Frequently Asked Questions

To become a TBR-VE Certified trainer, you must contact the certifier Nicole Fleming (nicole@flemingservice.biz) to begin the licensing / certification process.

The TBR-VE class gives teachers and trainers the facilitating skills to highly interactive, brain-based learning experiences in a virtual learning environment, whereas; the in-person TBR class equips trainers with skills to facilitate in a face-to-face learning environment.

No. The 2-day in-person and virtual classes serve different purposes. While both the classes cover the fundamental aspects of TBR concepts, they are equally learner-centered training programs. The TBR virtual class emphasizes virtual training approaches and strategies, while the in-person classes are centred on strategies that work efficiently in a face-to-face learning environment. The classes complement each other but do not necessarily cover the same content in learning. Attending both the training programs will give you diverse environments and skills sets. Here, one training is dedicated to virtual training and the other for in-person instruction.

The class is designed to help anyone aspiring to learn online, regardless of the topic, age, or complexity of the content. While the training program is generally created for grooming aspiring and existing learners, trainers, teachers, instructors, educators at both primary and secondary levels can also benefit from the class. Plenty of the virtual strategies taught in training can be modified to appeal to a wide range of students at different learning levels. Anyone aspiring to move away from the slide-based, lecture-mode and traditional training methods can take advantage of the TBR virtual edition training program in a different context. The VE edition will help aspiring trainers and teachers get acquainted with the appropriate methods and modes of virtual instruction. The training will encourage a more collaborative, learner-centered, and interactive virtual learning environment that can be used right away in instructional design and delivery in actual virtual classrooms.

The class structure consists of five 2. 5 hours modules that are spaced over 2-3 weeks. The brain research has shown that virtual learning is more beneficial when it’s spaced over weeks than a 2-day continuous training program that becomes an information dump. Before the class commences and moving to the next module, participants will attend 2 hours of warm-ups and follow-up sessions. According to leading and expert brain scientists, these sessions are called pre-and post-class activities as priming and spaced practice. The pre-and post-class activities are a crucial part of virtual learning.

Upon registering, participants will receive a digital workbook to apply for analogue exercises that best fit the digital strategies taught in the online sessions. You will also need to purchase a digital copy of the book “Training from the BACK of the Room” to use during and after the training.
